Embroidered Pouch

Here are the pictures of the pouch another day on... and yes i was supposed to be making a dress, but i got a bit bored after 4 hours of endless seams.

I have currently left the four squares in what will be the middle of the back of the pouch, but i don't quite know what to do with them. Anyone have any suggestions??
Was thinking about either little sead pearls, or twisting the blue and a gold thread together and doing another star? or something quite different.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I can't get the photos to come out with quite the right colour, but i assure you, that it is beautiful :-)

Looks good. You could do the crosses like Chris said, but fill in the background blue and leave the cold showing through for the cross. How does that sound?
Look! I am a comment!

Or, just one big cross like that, an arm in each diamond...

Could do either, Chris likes the castle in the top and silver crosses in the bottow three.... i guess because it is the shape of a lozenge...

Yeah, I dunno if I like that idea. It might look funny. You could do a castly in the top and bottom and crosses in the left and right.
That might be my modern idea of symetry fussing though.

I think you are being fussy about that... I can't decide and until i do i can't sew up the sides of the pouch, maybe that is why i can't decide, because i know when i am done i have to sew it up..

Oh, it's beautiful!!! Pearls sound very nice :-)

What type of fabric did you use for the doublet, in a previous post? It looks gorgeous and some friends of mine might be interested in it

Good luck with finishing it!

Thank you :-) I like the idea of puting pearls on it. I will post pictures when i have finished it. As For the Orange(ish) fabric for the doublet, i got it when we were in Doncaster, England last year in a bargin bin for 1 pound a meter! For that price it is a cotton blend (i wish it was in a silk, that would be to die for and probably 50 pounds a meter :-) )

This looks beautiful! How are you going to finish off the edges when you sew the two sides together?

Hi Kathy,

Thanks, i'm pretty pleased with it myself considering it is my first attempt at embroidery (other than cross stitch when i was little)

I intend on finishing the pouch using "embroidered braids" you can see some fantastic instructions on how to do this on "Medieval Silkwork." Here is the link
